I got the name wrong.. It was the Sainato's that blessed us with dinner not the Sainapo's. Although, I'm sure somewhere in the world the Sainapo's blessed somebody with something, I want to say thank you to the SainaTo's. We are still eating left overs :) And I won't attribute any of the blame to my mom... I think it was a phone misunderstanding. Are you happy now, mom? :) :) Now onto today: We finally got the tests done that have been slightly evading us. Ultrasound: check. Xray: check. We do have some more lab work to do but we haven't received the paper work for it yet. This Thanksgiving break I planned is turning out to be a little busier than I expected. Less staying at home with the kids baking and relaxing and more running into town a bajillion times a day. The good news, though, is that Rambo's ultrasound looked good. His blood vessels have seemed to clear any and all clots so we can stop the blood thinner. I repeat, he will be getting no more ...

The results are in

and the answer is..... we have a fat one. I was going to draw up a few charts to show you just what I mean, but my life has not been conducive to doing so this week.So you'll just have to do with a basic explanation. On the weight chart Rambo is finally up to about 40%. That was a pretty big jump he made in the past two months. On the height chart he is still not even on it - below the 3%. His feet are like pinpoints on the bottom of a trunk. His fingers and hands are just.... round. He has a checkup in 6 weeks where he hopefully won't have gained any weight, and if he has it better be with some length.  We also got the results of the sleep study. There wasn't much news. His desating has nothing to do with apnea or collapsing airways or anything like that. Just chronic lung disease. The only way to treat that? Outgrow ...

Mobile Chernobyl

"Shooting xray!" You hear those words and you will literally see everyone in the room up and moving towards the door and out into the hallway. Parents forsake their children. Nurses forsake their patients leaving them alone and helpless to absorb all the radiation we're so desperate to avoid. Thanks for taking one for the team, guys. I really think by the time we get home Rambo will be the kids own glow in the dark toy.  Ahhh, life in the PICU.  We never expected to be in the PICU as long as we were. We didn't expect a lot of things. But I definitely think we left our mark wherever we went. Whether that's a good or bad thing is left to one's own opinion. Going with the flow; rolling with the punches; whatever you want to say, we are experts at it now. Why not make it enjoyable?  Our days pretty much consisted of waking up, walking to the hospital, going to the 7th floor and entering First Big. That place will always hold a special spot in my heart. Imagi...
