Um..... WHAT???

I am speechless. Yeah, enjoy it. If you've learned anything about me through the course of this blog then you will know that I generally have something to say. This is a rarity. SPEECHLESS. I have been meaning to write a thank you to everyone who has helped since I put up my plea post . So many people genuinely stepped up and have continued to step up to help with all sorts of things! It has been a true blessing. What I realized today has spurred me on to write this thank you. I'm not sure who you are (and I'm really hoping it's not a big fat mistake) but you know who you are. Oh, yes you do. THANK YOU. We are stunned. And absolutely, completely speechless. Except for these 100 words or so. We really pray that God blesses you big time.  Humbled, grateful, surprised, blessed....... And to everyone who has helped watch the kids, clean a room, brought us food - a ready made meal or groceries-, sent cards, however you have reached out I want you to know that you...

I heard it through the grapevine...

...how much longer will [they] by mine? Unofficially, I heard yesterday that we are in danger of losing some of our nursing hours. Now, as of yet, my case manager and her supervisor have heard nothing of it, but the nursing company caught wind of something or other. Whether or not any of it (and who even knows what 'it' really is) is true or not I can't be certain. But I can say that it most likely is. That's usually the way these things go. I am led to a few conclusions: 1) It will probably be our hard earned 21 global hours per week they would take, which would leave us with only night time nursing.  2) It's most likely because we have not been able to use those hours, not because we don't need them but because the agency has not been able to fulfill them. 3) If this is the case, I'm hoping it works in our favor that we have contacted several other agencies in the past few months to try and get our hours filled. 4) Once you lose hours ...

Almost.

Image
We took advantage of the almost nice weather this week and threw stuff out windows. Who doesn't enjoy that?? Homemade parachute men and paper airplanes that almost flew.  Sunglasses for the almost sunshine. Emma almost sure she wants to take a picture with me. And even the dog who almost jumped out the window. For a few more pictures you can tap your way over to The Fam tab and enjoy. HAPPY SATURDAY, ONE AND ALL!

Winter catch up.

Image
This winter has been slow on the picture taking. Or at least the whole processing and putting up part. So, without much further ado here are some favorite winter moments in 10 pictures or less: The blue bird pictures were taken by Benjamin. I must admit that I can not remember ever before seeing a bluebird. But now I feel like I must get a bluebird house because those birds are A-DORABLE.

Benefits??

Let me tell you the benefits of having a husband who works shift work. There are none. NO SUCH THING. *The fact that we had no nurse last night and I can barely keep my eyes open may be affecting my view here just a touch. Maybe I'm being a bit more cynical than I usually would be. Maybe not. Our nurse, unfortunately had car trouble and couldn't make it. Not her fault, it just figures. I forgot what it was like to have to stay up. It's been several months since we've encountered that problem (THANKFULLY) and maybe I've gotten a bit.... pampered... maybe. And quite honestly it is much simpler taking care of Theodore throughout the night now than it ever has been before. And if he hadn't woken up at 5:45am I would probably be singing a different tune.  But he didn't. So I'm not. And for those of you weirdos who are usually up at 5:45 I ask you this: Why? WHY??? I understand that there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything don...

Baths

My kids are sweet. They really are. And unbeknownst to me they cleaned their bathroom and made it super nice so I could have a 'spa' by taking a bath. The only problem is I hate baths. I think they're gross. But they were so happy to bless me with this surprise how could I turn it down? So I did what every good mother would do. I bleached the heck out of the tub, filled it with as many bubbles as I could find, lit every single one of the 17 candles they put in there (ok maybe it was only three), and called them in to see how much mommy appreciated it. Then I sent them away so I could get in. Or so they thought. I'm really just sitting on the back of the toilet typing this on my phone. No I'm not.  I do love my kids and am thankful they love me and want to please and bless me even when I stink at showing them my love. Right now I better put my phone aside before I dunk it accidentally into this bubble bath. Plus I've been in here for about 2.5 minutes and I...

What do I know?

Where have I even stood but the shore along Your ocean? I never think about how small we are. And by 'we' I mean our planet. But this morning (we're talking FIRST THING as Ben came home from work and I'm still rubbing the crusties out of my eyes) as Ben was explaining to me fission and fusion and atomic bombs vs. hydrogen bombs [all of which I remember ABSOLUTELY everything you said, hon....] I got the vision of being pulled far far back into outer space and looking at the earth. I forget that we're just sitting in outer space. Just floating ever so small surrounded by endlessness.  Disclaimer: I am by NO MEANS anyth ing near a scientist. I don't even really like science so bear with my probably technically incorrect words. I'm just trying to give yo u a picture, not give you a degree in chemist ry .. or physical science ... or biology... or whatever it would be. What's t he stu dy of space again ? J UST KIDDING.   Our universe is limit les...
