For this rainy day.

Hearkening back to the warm wonderful days a few weeks ago. Park time with the kids :)

Easter.

And that's how Theodore spent a good bit of Easter. He did take part in the Easter egg hunt but lost interest after 3 eggs.  All in all it was a good day. I'd love to say I have a picture of all of us together, but it didn't happen :( With all the loading up and unloading and setting up and breaking down we totally forgot. In fact, these are the only pictures taken at all that day. Oh well. One forgotten (or not) Easter picture will not be what's remembered in 10 years anyway.

That is Theodore's new bed. His big boy bed that we have been waiting on forever. (He is just waaaaaaaay too big for a crib.) It came yesterday and we had a successful first night. He loves it. In fact, the other kids love it since they can actually get in it and all fit at the same time. The sides go up and down just like a hospital bed so it's super convenient. Yeah, Theodore fell out. Second night. He doesn't waste any time at all. I knew this was going to most likely happen since the sides don't come up near as far as on a crib. And he doesn't exactly go to sleep as soon as you lay him down.  He seems fine. Kids are resilient, right??  We'll see if he still loves his bed tomorrow.

Park time.

Spring is trying so hard!! It's really really almost here. There have even been a handful of truly spring like days. Yay! And we are taking advantage of them. The kids and I have been taking walks and I even (ssshhhh, don't tell them) took Theodore to the park without them.  At first he wasn't sure if he liked the slide But then he decided he did.   The swing too! And just for cuteness sake, throwing in the picture of him on his first swing ride last year.

Apologies.

Many apologies for neglecting this blog and those of you who are dependent upon it to keep up with Theodore.  Things have been going along swimmingly. He's been enjoying school to the utmost. He is continuing to learn new signs, as are we. He can now sign 'please' and does so a lot. :) Some of the phrases he does via sign are: "out please" and "more music" (and he'll either touch his head for head and shoulders or go round and round with his hands for wheels on the bus). The signs we use regularly are mom, dad, brother, sister, eat, please, out, music, more, all done, I love you, play, thank you, good, good morning, NO- (haha, but seriously), grandma, grandpa, bye bye, goodnight, sleep, bath, school, bus, hurt, baby etc. And we just started the word family. He can't sign all of those but he is recognizing some of them.  He has finished a few projects at school that has him using crayons and glue. Each day he comes home his nurse tells me abo...

Okay, it's a blurry picture. But it being any clearer wouldn't have mattered.  That's our hallway. In all it's glory.  Or, as I like to call it:  Disaster zone. Another reason to hate my house. Bursting at the seams. A hot mess.     There is literally no way to make it any better. The only thing that helps is as we use these supplies throughout the month. Then, finally, it gets to the point where I don't want to shoot myself in the face.... just in time to need to reorder it all. ^ That is his monthly order of supplies. Not including his 5 cases of formula.  And that's not everything. Thank God Theodore is not using the vent on a regular basis now, because that was at least another 2 large boxes filled with stuff.  I'm really not complaining. Okay, maybe a little. But not really complaining. It's not that  big of a deal. It only matters when I look at it...... I'm sure someone much more orga...

Update.

School has continued and Theodore is LOVING it. He has yet to have a full week of school since he started. His most being 3 days in a week that he has gone. But that is only because of snow and ice and fog and yada yada yada.  Every morning we get out his wheelchair and he claps. Then he rides up the lift on the bus and he claps and waves to the driver and aid. Then he gets to school, and I hear tell, that he claps and smiles at everyone he passes. I'm still waiting for school to wear him out the way I thought it would. He doesn't take a nap the entire time he's there and except for the occasional nap on the ride home he's awake for several more hours. His nurse is probably more ready for a nap than he is. But I'm not complaining. He is having a grand time and it gives us some quiet at the house.  Theodore is starting to turn into such a big boy. He's not necessarily doing anything new, but there's a maturity in his actions, you can see him putting thing...
